An all wheel drive off-road double decker bus to accommodate 12 guests in absolute comfort. It was to make Around Australia tours. (Styling was by courtesy of Michael Simcoe, head of design at General Motors, Detroit in 2010)
A small motorcycle that folds in to a box that can be checked onto a commercail airline, then on arrival at destination can be opened up, fueled from an aftershave bottle then driven away from the airport. We designed it, built it and used it for a number of years traveling all over the world. It was put to rest after airlines became more security conscious, disallowing anything that had had fuel in it from being put on a commercial aircraft! The bike won an award on the Australian TV show "What will they think of next".
"Magic Jack". People in USA will be aware of a new device just introduced and advertised on TV that will enable anyone anywhere in the world to have their own US telephone number. It can allow you to call anywhere in the USA from outside the country totally free of charge. The little box plugs into any USB port in any computer and provides worldwide connections. We came up with the concept about 12 years ago, but unfortunately there was not the technology developed at the time for it to be produced. Motorized snow skis. We designed special skis with tracks each one powered by a cable from a back pack motor. We built the prototype and it worked. But, to make the product light enough to be really functional required very sophisticated light weight engineering that would have made it too expensive to be marketable.
Square Inch Land Company. We purchased a plot of land in a very small Australian town (Steiglitz), previously famous for gold mining. The government later changed the zoning so that it could not be built on. What do we do with it? Sell it off square inch by square inch. The "title" document is very attractive and a great talking point. We still have some available so if you have a child or grandchild that you would like to see get into property development, here is the opportunity to get in at the ground level for very little money!
