We have had many enquiries for container based houses providing more bedrooms than the one bedroom SMALLisSMART HOUSE.
Over time, if you keep visiting this website, you will find more designs for varying size houses starting with two bedrooms using two X 40 ft containers.
We have recently gained access to up to 54 ft containers which allows us to create a two bedroom house in a 54 ft container for little more money than the 40 ft model!
As they get larger, we will extend the designs by spreading two X 40 ft containers apart and bridging between them with conventional construction. It is a very logical progression. We call this style of house the DOGTROT HOUSE. (The Dogtrot house was described by Mark Twain in Huckleberry Finn: "It was a double house, and a big open place 'betwixt' them was roofed and floored".)

The plans shown on this page are examples of how shipping containers can be used in conjunction with more conventional construction. We find that the only restriction to container based construction is your dream and our imagination and technical design ability. This complex of 6000 sq. ft. is a residence and 6 unit bed and breakfast facility. It is to be constructed from 29 shipping containers.
McCRISTAL COMPLEX.
This 5 bedroom house and arts complex was constructed from 12 shipping containers by the owner and her 3 grown children with the help from some local friends.
